What role can biomedical engineering play in cancer research?

1. Biomedical engineers develop new diagnostic methods to detect cancer as early as possible - that is a hot area right now.

2. They design the machines that doctors/hospitals use to treat cancer, such as CT machines and the next generation of machines.

3. They are working on new ways to treat and cure cancer using technology, such as ways to direct radiation, or nanoparticles. They also partner with medical school to research new ways to deliver cancer drugs.

Without the engineers, the doctors couldn't get the job done.
