the drugs don't work any more: The verve?
Does anyone know a good song for my cancer research awareness presentation?
I personally haven't heard the other songs mentioned but something that always brings me back to when my dad passed of cancer is a song by Tim McGraw's song Live Like You Were Dying. It talks about a man who finds out he has a terminal disease, I am assuming it is cancer and he is asked what he would. If you search on youtube the name Stacy Westfall and there are several vidoes, but this one is a championship ride in 2006 she is wearing white pants and shirt and she is rideing with no saddle, and bridle on her horse whizards babydoll this woman has dedicated a horse ride competition to this song for her dad who had just recently passed and if you listen carefully you will hear the announcer even choke up, you may not be into country music but the video is very moving. I was in tears because I could feel how she was feeling and as I mentioned this song came out just after my dad passed of cancer and so I understand the importance of what is said in the song. Anyway, even if you don't use it take the time to watch the video and you will see and feel the passion in the research for cancer...by the way, good luck on your presentation! Maybe you could play the video at the end.
Reply:I was a bit at a loss for what to suggest until i listened to Kates Game 11 song that her mum was inspired by. What a moving song and it also reminded me of my mum's death too, although not as recent as Kate's. Kate should get your 10 points as the song is perfect.

I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
Still so many answers I don't know
Realise that to question is how we grow
So I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
We need a change
Do it today
I can feel my spirit rising
We need a change
So do it today
'Cause I can see a clear horizon
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
'Cause you could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
What have you done today
You could be so many people?
Just make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
