I'm not sure how to go about doing this but I want to start my own project to raise money for cancer research please help.

Try contacting the american cancer society. They have walks and fundraisers all the time. You could even start your own with their help. I have done a couple relays for life and found that it was very rewarding. We also helped to raise about $52,000.00
