Pancreatic Cancer Research?

Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. By the time you notice any symptoms, it's too late (stage 4). Yet, research and funding for pancreatic cancer is very low. (http://www.driveforthemarker.org/pancrea...

Why is this???

Pancreatic Cancer Research?
Probably because no one is fighting for the research and most people with that kind of cancer do not survive or live for very long after being diagnosed. There's lots of activity for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer and prostate cancer. See what you can find out to get the word out about how important it is to research this.
Reply:maybe we should start something... there are local runs.... maryland is having one in october.....

my sister was just diagnosed 7/20... she is finished the chemo and starts radiation next week.

her spirits are great... i do not think she realizes that she is going to die in 20 months..... i m not sure if that is good or bad... any ho.... wear your purple (pancreatic cancer color) and start something on your own!
Reply:You are right about why it's usually fatal.

My brother died of it last year.

The reason it's caught so late is it hides. Symptoms don't usually show till it affects another organ and THAT organ gives symptoms.

Maybe now that Pavarotti died of it more money will come in to fund research into this usually fatal cancer. Often times, people donate to research after someone famous dies. Till then, funding can be a problem.
