How can I promote my musical "Below Stairs" for Cancer Research?

Set up a website and make sure it comes up on all searches for music, theatre, musical theatre, charity, cancer research, events/what's on and the town it's showing in. A website doesn't have to be expensive and it can get a lot of attention if you set it up right.

Send details and tickets to the local papers, TV stations and radio within driving distance of the theatre. If possible, hold a preview a couple of days before the opening night so they can review it in time to maximise ticket sales. A review written on opening night is unlikely to impact sales for at least 2-3 days. if you only have a week's run, that's half your income potential gone. (If you can't hold a press preview, ask them to let you know if they plan to come so you can sell as many unused tickets as possible. Since it's for charity, they may do this.)

Leaflets and posters work best if they're well targeted. First of all, check where you can legally put them, then make sure they're in every place that might reach your audience. Examples are public transport routes to your venue, both vehicles and stops/stations; local churches; malls and stores; public libraries and public buildings; high schools and colleges; doctors, dentists, veterinarians, hairdressers - any place with a waiting area.

Talk to your local cancer charities well ahead of time and ask them to help you by sending information to their supporters, running articles in their newsletters ahead of time and mentioning your musical at all meetings and fundraisers.

Best of luck.

you could do the race for life which is also for cancer research and carry promo banners. If you have a cancer research shop near you try putting something up in there. Also you could try contacting cancer research, they may help you, may even get on board with the idea.
