Can anyone help me as I dont know how to raise money for this, anyone got any ideas?
I would like to set up a website to help cancer research.?
I think many of us would like to help you, but we don't know exactly what you would like to do - can you add on more specific information??
I agree with you that more research is needed! The proof to back up what you're feeling %26amp; trying to accomplish is how many gains have already been made through research! Cancer isn't just one disease, and there won't be just one cure. I really think the "cure" will come from prevention of each type of cancer, personally. So, all research gets us closer to knowing what causes cancer and how to avoid it!
In the U.S., aside from the Government, the organization that donates the most money for research is the American Cancer Society. They have their own fundraisers, and they also have a way to partner with them if you want to do your own fundraiser (a run, a car wash, a cocktail party...lots of options) and give the money to their efforts...you can make a webpage on their site. Other organizations may offer this as well.
I hope this is helpful to you - if I had a better idea of what you want to do, I may be able to give you more ideas. Good Luck!
Reply:In what way do you wish to help? Create a website that people can visit to make donations on your behalf?
Or are you maybe considering some fund raising
activities that you wish to advertise, in order to gain
those donations? If the latter, then there are several
sites that allow you to do this kind of thing.
Cancer Research or Cancer Research UK?
By all mean mail me off answers, and I'll see if I can
assist further.
BTW, its not all about 'the cure'. More often it is
about the care of the patient, who maybe, at least
for now, incurable, and have a limited lifespan.
The end period of this lifespan leading to inevitable
death, can be extremely unpleasant, not only for the cancer patient themselves - as the body deteriorates,
but the mind stays alert - but especially for those who
may have to care and live with patient during these
final weeks or days.

Reply:What do you need money for?
Most of it goes into the pockets of pharmaceutical company exec's, not into researching a cure. There's
no money to be made in a cure.
I think quite enough research has proven that there is a cure and certainly ways of preventing cancer naturally as the body is designed to.
The issue is education. The bigger problem is overcoming the money motivation in the medical field in general.

And the cause of breast cancer, which is claimed to be unknown by most of the medical community:

Reply:Hey Kay, there is a great site called http://www.lookpink.com which I use everyday to search and shop. It raises money to offer mammograms to under-priveleged women. Hope that helps!
