What are the new technologies that are currently being tried in an effort to treat cancer?

I only know one - nanotechnology.

can someone give me another one (technology to treat/prevent cancer)?

for a research paper!

oh and please post the source!!

What are the new technologies that are currently being tried in an effort to treat cancer?
I looked at several different new technologies in use in cancer treatment, but almost all were in research phases. One that was not is something called Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), "an advanced mode of high-precision radiotherapy that utilizes computer-controlled x-ray accelerators to deliver precise radiation doses to a malignant tumor or specific areas within the tumor."

Take a look at the source below for further information.

Good luck with your research!
Reply:How about biotechnology and bioinformatics ?
Reply:Cell Culture Drug Resistance Testing (CCDRT) is a process where the specific cancer cells are grown in a lab and treated with various drugs to assess which treatment choice is best.

low carbohydrate diet is being used in brain cancers but could be useful in many cancers. most cancers only use glucose for energy while most body cells can use ketones. and fats. obviously the lower the glucose/starch in the diet the more medical monitring would be required.

Apoptosis is the natural suicide of cells that recognize that they are broken or cancerous. there are many mechanisms that control Apoptosis and some are in the mitochondria. some cancers avoid apoptosis by paralyzing the mitochondria. wake up the mitochondria and the cell will recognize it is cancer and commit suicide.

Anti angiogenesis is preventing the growth of new blood vessels. For a tumor to grow fast it needs blood supply. prevent new blood vessels from forming and you limit the growth rate of the tumor.
