Is Barack Obama More Electable since he's Supporting Cancer research?

Obama's Mother passed from Cancer.

I believe that because of this detail, Obama will be known as the Cancer President.

I truly believe that he is the "Can do" President that will get

Cancer under control and managed and not just a lot of talk from talking heads.

We all know someone that is suffering, overcome or died from this Villian. My mother also died from Pancreatic Cancer. And many more of my family and friends.

The economy is important, Fighting the wars are important. But if most of

our fellow Americans are dying from more than war numbers. What does Fighting War mean?

Is Barack Obama More Electable since he's Supporting Cancer research?
He's more electable because he's not a B word that rhymes with itch.
Reply:A President is only given a tag during or after his term(s). He's not President yet. The issue, in this election, having to do with medicine, is not about one main disease, it's about stem cell research.
Reply:I doubt that would give an edge to any canidate. It is important to all.
Reply:One of the reasons his mom died is because she did not believe insurance would cover her treatment and at that time, it may not have. But there are still many people who are denied because of pre existing conditions. He wants to take on the insurance companies about that, and has made that very clear. I think that is a very noble effort because most people realize how powerful the insurance and pharmaceutical companies are.
Reply:Supporting cancer Research doesn't say much about a person's capability at handling America's issues. John Edwards wife is fighting cancer herself, so you can be reassured Edwards and family are avid supporters of cancer research. Hillary is a woman. And all women know that they can all be at risk for breast cancer. So you can be assured that lots of women, including Hillary, are in support of cancer research. So to label any one of the candidates as the 'Cancer President' isn't going to instil additional excitement... since anyone and anyone who has been in support of cancer research are doing a fabulous job already. Of course, I'm not thumbing up my fingers to those fabulously rich folks who already take deductions for their contributions and want further tax refunds on their income! Cancer research needs funding... and if the tax pool is unavailable, mere talk isn't going to help fund the research.
Reply:That isn't the question we have to worry about.

Educate yourself about who this man is and who his backers are- for instance one of his biggest backers is Nation of Islam. Another backer is The New Black Panthers.

Reply:the first answer is correct
Reply:He's more electable because independents and some conservatives will vote for him. Hillary is too polarizing. You are either on her side or you want anybody but her to win. Hardly any conservatives will vote for her and not all liberals will vote for her.
Reply:I am sure all Presidential candidates would support cancer research.

Regardless of party affiliation.
Reply:If that makes him Electable, then by all means Elect me !!! And many others that support cancer research !!
Reply:Obama cannot win. He has nowhere near the experience. Oprah is trying to pull one over on you. Obama is also very sympathetic to Islam since most of his family is Muslim and he once was (may still be). You really should reconsider your choice.
Reply:We would all like to see more funding for cancer research. There just really isn't any money left to go around. President or not, Obama can push a bill forward to increase cancer research funding, but it is really up to the rest of Congress to decide whether or not they will appropriate more money.
Reply:Lance Armstrong has the largest privately contributed foundation to cancer worldwide, as for Obama he said pretty horrible things about his mom in the book Dreams of my Father, so maybe he feels guilty, I know Mrs. Clinton supports huge rallys for Breast Cancer, the largest cancer killer of women second to lung cancer.
Reply:Cancer research, while important, won't be an issue in this election. It won't make a difference. Congress could fund more cancer research without the President. Why don't they?
