A lot of scientists worldwide are doing research on cancer, but why still people suffer from this desease?

Thats a tough question. Medicine is science, and science is rarely exact. While millions of ppl suffer through cancer today, if you look at what we can treat today, compared to say 20 years ago, we've come a long way. Thousands of ppl are alive today that just 20 years ago, heck even 10 years ago some ppl would be dead that are alive today.

When it comes to things like the art of medicine, you often have to look at how far we've come, not how far we need to go.

A lot of scientists worldwide are doing research on cancer, but why still people suffer from this desease?
Mutation is part of the issue. The sheer number of different kinds, another. Many are being cured. Many are being discoverd early enough.

I survived, after drastic surgery.
Reply:coz they hav not yet found medicine

they r doing lots and lots of research
Reply:I agree with Rufus
Reply:Cancer is certainly not "nature's way of punishing". It is difficult to "cure" because it is our own cells that are the problem. Every cell in our body is programed to eventually die. This is called "Apoptosis". Cancer cells, through hundreds of different mechanisms miss the cue to kill themselves and regulate their growth. So how to you kill all of the bad cells in your body, and only the bad cells? We have come a long way, and will go a lot further, but it will take time.
Reply:Cancer is nature`s way of disapproving human actions.

Breast cancer occurs in women who do not nurse babies or nurse only one or two babies for very short periods.

Lung cancer --in those who insult lungs for very long periods

Cancer body of uterus--occurs in those who do not bear children

Stomach cancer--occurs in those who take gastric irritants as a habit

Research generally fails as it is nature that rebels against insults.

And drug companies do not concede defeat
Reply:Because we are all born with the gene. Either it develops or it doesn't. And there are so many forms of cancer and different stages of aggression. It's very difficult to cure it. It's like trying to beat the clock. They will find a cure. But there's also many people out there, like myself, who get stupid and pick up a nasty addicting habit - smoking. I'm trying to quit. It's not easy, but I'm determined to beat this addiction.
Reply:Cancer research makes to much money for everyone involved so there will never be a cure.
Reply:The drug companies in the US have been trying to delevop a new drug for cancer to increase their profits. The drug companies don't actually want a way to cure or prevent cancer as their only goals are to increase their profits.

However, that being said there are some doctors and researchers who don't get paid from a drug company that are truely and sincerelly are looking for a true cure and not a new drug. They haven't been successful yet in part because they are limited in the amount of funds they can work with since a big drug company isn't supporting them with money.
