How do I go about raising money for cancer research?

My idea is to raise one million dollars for cancer research, using both highly favored (celebrities) figures, and every state. Our country is so focused on helping everyone else, that I would like to help raise money for the cancer patients right here in the US. I would like to set out a majority of projects, but I do't know where to start? How do I even get started and get celebs and state governments involved?

Get creative! For the products if you mean just t-shirts, hats, cups, mousepads, pins etc. just go to zazzle.com. You design they make the products.

Create a website or a myspace page explaining your cause. Set up a paypal account so people can donate money.

Go to the local children's hospital. Ask the kids to draw you a picture and put those pictures on cards, posters etc.

There's a million things you can do.

GOOD LUCK!

Feel free to e-mail me for more ideas.
Reply:I offer fundraisers for these types of things. I'm a Purse Party consultant and basically your group would take catalog orders and I will donate 20% of your total sales to your organization!
Reply:Go to www.give.org and see how many foundations are already out there to raise money. This site is excellent because each charity has to account for the amount of money that actually is spent on its focus rather than on administration and beaurocracy of it. It will give you some ideas. Also, you could go to an academic site like Sloan Kettering in New York or UCSF in San Francisco. The company Genentech might have ideas for you.
Reply:There is already a cure for cancer. Drugs, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation are definitely not. The key is to eat from the garden - the natural foods that God has given to us.

There are so many cancer research projects going on. If you really want to help, encourage people to eat God's natural foods.

Do you see animals with cancer? Not many. Why? Because they eat from God's garden. We are the only animals who cook our food.

My motto is: if the food has a mom or dad or a face, I will not eat it.

I wish you long life.
Reply:OoOo Make paper pumpkins and sell them with a picture of a child with cancer.. ect. sell them for a dollar each and hang the pumpkins with the person that bought the pumpkin's name on it around the hospital WHILE presenting the money to cancer research! that probably doesnt help much. but it might a little. Im only 14 and that is wat I do to help! I have raised up to about 900.00 dollars for st. Judes hospital in no time! :-) good luck!
Reply:hahaha i have the same idea. ive thought of starting up a foundation and develop chile's first national cancer registry as it may find trends, be a source for epidemiologists and all. nixon did that for u americans in the 70s when he declared war to cancer. i think by setting up a foundation makes it easier to raise money. if that escapes ur possibilities --it takes money, other peoples commitment and time, i think a good start might be becoming a volunteer on any cancer foundation like lance armstrongs. in the end, ull be accomplishing the same goal... helping fight cancer and eventually beating that **********. credits would go to lance, but then ud still be helping beat this crap the best way u can. if it was a person id kill cancer with my bear hands. but a concerted effort will give it a more painful death!! i wish u GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
